A brine chiller plant is a refrigeration system that cools a brine solution (a mixture of water and salt or glycol) to provide cooling for industrial processes, often at sub-zero temperatures. It works by circulating the chilled brine through a heat exchanger to absorb heat from another process, and then returning the warmed brine to the chiller to be cooled again. This indirect cooling method prevents contamination and is used in applications like chemical processing, food and beverage production, and electroplating.

They work by removing heat from the liquid and transferring it to the atmosphere, often using a closed-loop system where a refrigerant cools water or glycol, which then circulates to cool the beverages

An Air-Cooled Chilling Plant is a refrigeration system that cools liquids (like water or glycol) by using ambient air to dissipate heat, eliminating the need for water towers; it works on the vapor-compression cycle with components like compressors, condensers (fin-and-tube), evaporators, and expansion valves, providing efficient, self-contained cooling for HVAC, industrial processes, or data centers. 

A water-cooled chilling plant is a centralized system that uses water to cool a building or industrial process by transferring heat to a cooling tower, where it is dissipated into the atmosphere. Unlike air-cooled systems, these plants are highly efficient, quieter, and suitable for large-scale cooling applications like data centers, hospitals, and large commercial buildings, especially in hot climates.
